The game this year is called Rebound Rumble. Robots form a team, referred to as an Alliance, consisting of 3 robots. Two Alliances compete against each other. The goal is to score as many basketballs into their hoops as they can during a 2 minute and 15 second match. The higher the hoop, the more points received for baskets scored.

The game starts with a 15-second Hybrid Period. During this period, the robot operates with driver inputs. However, one robot in the Alliance can be controlled using a Microsoft Kinect. Extra points are given for baskets scored during this period. After this period, drivers control robot and try to score as many baskets as possible.

The game ends with the robot attempting to balance on bridges which are in the middle of the field.
